Gaining life skills in the sea

At Gunwalloe we don't believe that gaining great beach and surf life safety skills can only happen in a fiercely competitive environment.

In our club, we feel that the values of compassion, inclusion and teamwork are crucial for our Cornish youngsters to pick up in early life.

All our kids and their parents sign up to our Code of Conduct. It spells out the values we hold high in our club, including setting positive examples for others, especially younger members of our club. The code also highlights the importance of speaking out if concerned or uncomfortable with someone's behaviour.

  • Nipper Lifesaver Pathway

  • Graduate Lifeguard Program

  • Lifeguard certificate

Winter training

During the winter, we train at our great local swimming pool in Helston, kindly hosted by Better Helston Leisure Centre. We use our winter training to keep kids (and coaches!) fit and to prepare new members for the seasons at the beach. Our beach session usually start the first Saturday after Helston's Flora day.
